Course Description
The AP Spanish Literature and Culture course is designed for high school students who successfully completed at least 3 years of Spanish or AP Spanish Language and Culture. This course also is designed to provide the curriculum, requirements, and learning experiences of an advanced third-year college/university survey course in Literature written in Spanish. This course also introduces to formal study of the most representative literary texts and trends, theory, and criticism from Peninsular Spanish, Latin American, and US Hispanic literature, including a variety of genres such as short stories, novels, poetry, drama, and essays, and organized chronological, from the Medieval period to the present. This course will also help you develop literary language and analytical skills needed to demonstrate your understanding of the texts. The curriculum is also connected and aligned to the following AP College Board Themes to enrich your literary analysis for reading, writing, and class discussion: Las sociedades en contacto, La construcción del género, El tiempo y el espacio, Las relaciones interpersonales, La dualidad del ser, and La creación literaria. NOTE: You will be responsible for taking care of both volumes (you are not allow to write or use highlighters on books), otherwise you need to pay for damages and/or lost book ($60 or more)
